3 ply disposable face masks tend to be relatively loose-fitting that protect the wearer from large droplets, liquids, sprays and splashes in the immediate environment. They do not reliably filter out airborne particles.

Their effectiveness in providing protection from liquids varies depending on materials and thickness. Material content and thickness may also affect wearability and breathability.

When properly worn, they prevent large-particle droplets, liquids such as saliva and other body materials that can contain viruses or bacteria from reaching the wearer. Conversely, they protect others from the wearer’s saliva and respiratory droplets.

Note: Because of the loose fit and materials of 3 ply disposable face masks they do not protect from very small air particles. 3 ply disposable face masks are not meant to be reused or shared.

Used, damaged, soiled or worn out masks should be discarded properly.
